Update – Sorry I’ve Been Lazy – Back to MMA

Published on March 29, 2012 by in MMA

Um Sorry there have been no updates for a long time. I have no excuse so here’s a catch up.

My fight at the F3 Tournament in Kuala Lumpur was not the best fight of my short career. The crowd was good probably 1500 people and I loved the whole pre-fight build up and the walk in to my chosen music (Blur Song 2).

However the fight itself was not my best. It would appear my opponent had watched my videos and trained specifically to beat me and sadly I played right into his hands. I threw a kick early in the round and he shot in and took me to the ground. I fought hard to get up and was halfway to turning him over when he took me back down and got my back sinking in a rear naked choke.

Dam, back to training. To make matters worse I injured my shoulder again and this time I know I have to sort it out. Eventually I went to a recommended Chinese guy who massaged the hell out of it and told me I must rest for two weeks.

After that I went back training. In the mean time I have been lucky enough to go and watch the Malaysian Fighting Championship 4 event in Kuala Lumpur, DARE’s event in Bangkok and this weekend I shall be at ONE FC 3 War of the Lions in Singapore. So while i have not been doing much training I have been having a lot of MMA related fun.

I will try tobe more regular with my updates.

February 25th in Kuala Lumpur My Next Fight Is Announced

Published on February 7, 2012 by in MMA, Muay Thai

My next fight has been confirmed for the 25th February at the F3 Championships in Kuala Lumpur

My opponent is going to be by far my hardest fight, Muayfit fighter Ziyad Ayoub, Who recently won an event held by Muayfit, Mayhem 2, at Sunway Pyramid. That was a tournament, so to win he would have had to win three fights on the same day. Some of my team mates were in that event and although all of them made it to the final, the prior fights took there toll. So, I know this is one tough dude. What I have to do is prove myself tougher! I am training really hard and intend to put on a good show especially as the event will be televised on Astro.

MMA Training And I Meet The Brooklyn Monk

Published on January 25, 2012 by in Training

Well after my fight it’s back to training and we have a guest at the Gym, the man known as The Brooklyn Monk.

We have also had him as a house guest for a few days, Antonio Graceffo is his real name.

Antonio is one of those guys who seems to just go for it.

He has been around Asia for over ten years, he speaks a variety of languages like a native, I have witnessed him switch from English to French, German and Chinese all seemingly without pause, and apparently there are a few other languages tucked up his sleeve. He is the Author of various books, the star of the Martial Arts Odyssey Web Series, a black belt in three different martial arts and experience in many others oh and he’s a fun guy to hang around with.

Oh and he trains really hard.

We both hope to be fighting on the same bill in Kuala Lumpur on February 11th. Hopefully we can both win!

Ultimate Beatdown 6 – My First MMA Fight

Published on January 15, 2012 by in MMA

So I have just had my first MMA fight. My first two fights were both Muay Thai which I won, but I wanted to concentrate on MMA.

The event was Ultimate Beatdown 6 held at my home gym of Ultimate MMA Academy, Johor Bahru.

It’s the first fight that my whole family have attended, Mum, Dad, Brother and Sister and so I needed to be my best. Since all my injuries are behind me I have been working hard. You can see the fight below.

Thanks to Chian Yik at Ultimate MMA Academy for all the training and for all the words of support.

Busy Training And Getting Ready For My Next Fight At Ultimate Beatdown

Published on January 4, 2012 by in MMA

I’m ready for my Fight just over a week to go

Ultimate Beatdown 3

Since my last update I have been unwell and therefore have not trained as much as I would want, I had a solid three week period when I was unable to train properly which was not good.

I had managed to get some training in with by Brother which had helped a lot. I also have hurt my foot again but it’s getting better.

My next fight is scheduled for Janaury 14th and is against a guy from Malacca. I am very confident that I can win this fight. I watched my opponents last fight and he has heart, but I don’t think he has the skills to worry me. The problem with MMA though is everybody has a chance, one good punch or a submission move and it’s all over, So, I will be very aware.

I am also going up to Bangkok this week with my Dad to watch the DARE 1-12 MMA event, that should be a lot of fun and I will be commentating on the fights for my Dad to use on his website MMANewsAsia.com

This will be our fourth ever live MMA event together and from what I have seen on-line, DARE know how to put on a great show.

I will try to out up a post next week about DARE and also giving more info on the Ultimate Beatdown event.

Ultimate Fight Night Five at Ultimate MMA Academy – Johor Bahru

Published on November 30, 2011 by in Promotions

Ultimate Fight Night Five at Ultimate MMA Academy – Johor Bahru

I was not due to fight in this event and as it turned out that was a good thing as I spent most of the past couple of weeks being unwell and would not have been able to compete at all. So, instead I was DJ for the night and Timekeeper, while my Dad was ref.

It was a good night with four good fights.

I am posting some excellent Video of the main event between JJ ‘The White Plague’ Meyer and Sam ‘The Real Deal’ Chan, it’s in two parts and covers the whole fight.
